About the Photographer
Gema Galán was born in Seville, Spain but grew up in Sydney, Australia. She is now based in a small village in the countryside of Southern Spain. Her background in both English literature and dance have been fundamental to her journey as an artistic photographer and visual artist.
Drawn to themes such as identity and memory, natural elements are deeply integrated into her works. Her images are intricate narratives full of poetry and an emotive quality that invites viewers into thoughtfully constructed worlds that reflect her unique perspective and diverse inspirations.
She has won several awards, exhibited in cities across Spain and conducts workshops for public and private institutions both nationally and internationally.
